Project Description

  • Tamoin participates in the development of an innovative product in the area of Marine Wind Energy as a member of the industrial and technological consortium NAUTILUS Floating Solutions, S.L (

  • The objective is the development of a semi-submersible floating structure that allows a reduction of costs of the generated energy.
It is the first solution that will allow to have platforms in locations where the depth of the seafloor does not allow the current cemented solutions.

  • This project has been co-financed by the Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad, former Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, former Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia, under the Programa Retos Colaboración 2014

  • Four-column semi-submersible structure

  • Rigid bottom pontoon with flat bottom surface

  • No tubular joints

  • Stabilization plates within the perimeter of the columns

  • Symmetrical structure

  • Steel construction

  • Two types of ballast:

    • Passive concrete ballast
    • Active water ballast

  • Standard catenary anchoring system.

  • Redundant access to the platform in two columns
